Tewameter® Triple TM 330T

3-in-1 Probe of the World's Leading TEWL Device

The Tewameter® Triple TM 330T offers all advantages of the “open chamber measurement” and has additional benefits.

The Tewameter® Triple TM 330T is an advanced instrument designed for precise and efficient measurement of transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Featuring three independent probe heads, it allows simultaneous assessment of multiple skin sites or larger surface areas under identical environmental conditions. This innovative design ensures highly reproducible results and significantly reduces measurement time, making it ideal for comparative studies, product testing, and dermatological research.

Advantages of Tewameter® Triple TM 330T

  • The three probe heads of the Tewameter® Triple TM 330T can be placed independently and flexibly on the skin—either close together or spaced apart—making setup quick and easy. This allows fast, reproducible measurement over a larger skin area.

  • The software displays the TEWL value, average, and standard deviation for each head, along with an overall average.

  • It also enables simultaneous measurement on three different skin sites (e.g., with different products) under identical environmental conditions.

  • The included transport suitcase doubles as a calibration check unit. The TM 330T is compatible with all MPA systems.

Where to use:

The measurement of the TEWL and the quality of the barrier function of the skin is the basic measurement for all cosmetic applications:

• Indispensable instrument for formulation, claim support and efficacy & safety testing of skin care, household product, raw materials and  pharmaceutical products
• Typical claims (example) with the Tewameter®: barrier improvement, regenerating, protecting, for sensitive skin, calming/soothing, vitalizing, nonoccluding, tolerable, anti-irritation, anti-pollution, etc.
• Sweat studies (antiperspirant efficacy)
• Patch Tests
• Standard in dermatological basic research on humans and animals.
• In occupational health the measurement of the skin barrier function can show the necessity of using skin protection products.
• Other industries, e.g. textile-, nutrition, packaging, paper/tissue are using this measurement.
• Local skin energy balance could be an exciting new parameter for different research fields: e.g. sports, nutrition & food supplements, textile, micro circulation, sleep medicine, special cooling products, etc.
